Eindhoven365 winner Best Client Award 2015

October 23 2015

Eindhoven365 is the winner of the Best Client Award 2015. This was announced Saturday evening at the presentation of the annual Dutch Design Awards in Eindhoven.

Eindhoven has a single brand strategy: all efforts for positioning the city as a technology, design and knowledge hotspot are based on an unequivocal visual identity. For its implementation, Eindhoven365 has established a designers’ collective, the so-called Virtual Design Agency. The members bundle their strengths to achieve the strongest possible effect; this is how the client brings together local creatives.

Best client

On Saturday evening city marketing organisation Eindhoven365 was rewarded for good design patronage with the Best Client Award 2015. According to the professional jury – Pieter Aarts (Design Management Netwerk), Rita van Hattum (BN), Mark van Iterson (Heineken), Luuk Ros (Tijdschrift voor Marketing) and Roel Stavorinus (Design management and communication) – Eindhoven365 dares to stick its neck out by radically opting for this innovative working method. The Virtual Design Agency is an innovative experiment that shows guts. This has worked out surprisingly well: Eindhoven as a brand is lively and powerful. The smart visual system makes the style scalable, widely deployable, and consequently future-proof. The design agencies that Eindhoven365 works with (including Edhv, HeyHeydehaas, George & Harrison, Raw Color and Scherpontwerp) are an appealing mixture of established names and fledgling talent. The committee has rewarded Eindhoven365 with the prize because it considers it an example of how profitable ‘flip-thinking’ can be.

Best Client Award

With the Best Client Award, Dutch Design Awards shows and rewards good patronage in relation to design. Key assessment criteria are professionalism, strategy, sustainability and innovation. Besides Eindhoven365, Rijksmuseum and Industriepark Kleefse Waard (IPKW) were nominated for the award. More about these finalists and their special projects can be found on the Dutch Design Awards website.
