Competition Dutch Design Awards 2016 is open

From February 22nd until April 1st, Dutch designers can register to participate in the 14th Dutch Design Awards. Did you create work during the past year that is innovative or generates impact and does your work measures up to that of the best designers in the Netherlands? Then why not enter your design to compete in the Dutch Design Awards 2016?


Dutch Design Awards (DDA) presents and rewards the best in Dutch design each year. In 2016, prizes will be awarded in the categories Product, Communication, Habitat, Fashion, Design Research and Service & Systems. The competition runs from February 22nd until April 1st. Young designers can make a submission for the Young Designer Award until April 15th, commissioners compete for the Best Client Award. The best from all the categories is crowned with the Future Award. Also the Frame Public Award will be awarded this year.

SELECTION AND JUDGING The DDA selection committees comprise independent design experts, who scout and evaluate submissions based on five criteria: aesthetics, impact, innovation, method of manufacturing and cooperation. The finalists will be announced in June. An international jury will choose the winners in October. The celebratory prize-giving event will take place during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven.


Designers who would like to compete for a Dutch Design Award must register through the DDA website from Monday February 22nd until Friday April 1st 2016. More information about selection committees, categories, evaluation criteria, and the winners from former editions can be found at
