DDA exhibition at Romanian Design Week 2015

The Romanian Design Week 2015 will take place in Bucharest on May 15-24. A delegation of the Dutch Design Awards exhibition 2014 will be on show during this week. The exhibition will display Young Designer finalists Liselore Frowijn, Niels Hoebers and Dave Hakkens (winner).

Liselore Frowijn will show work from her graduation collection Afternoon of a Replicant. Animator Niels Hoebers presents work made for rENs, Maarten Baas and Nacho Carbonell. Winner Dave Hakkens shows his Phonebloks, even as one of the recycling machines from the Precious Plastics project. The exhibition design is made by designers collective La Bolleur.

With the exhibition during Romanian Design Week upcoming Dutch design talents are promoted internationally. Moreover the exchange with Romania is interesting due to the flourishing local craft industry and possible knowledge exchange between Romanian and Dutch designers. To enhance to cooperation between The Netherlands and Romania, The Netherlands is one of the guest countries of the design event. The Dutch Design Awards exhibition annualy travels to different cities around the world and offers an international platform to the best of Dutch design. Exhibitions were on show earlier in Seoul (2014), Karlsruhe (2013) en Istanbul (2012). See the full list of the traveling exhibition here.
