Zandtapijten
The project
Studio Muurbloem created a sand carpet by using a working method derived from India. They perforated a PVC tube and then filled it with sand. By rolling the filled tubes the pattern of the holes is transferred to the surface. A sand carpet does not last long, a day at most in the public space. This ephemeral character lends it a special appeal. It is the simplest way to formally decorate just about any place imaginable – with grains of sand that are destined to blow away in the wind.
Committee
A disarmingly simple way to lend just about any conceivable spot temporarily a ceremonial appearance. The innovative nature is largely due to the technique with the roller.
