The way we live forces us to look for new ways of growing crops. Cities are getting bigger and resource scarcity is a growing problem. PlantLab, based in Den Bosch is working on ways to cultivate crops under controlled conditions. As a result, the utopia of crops that are cultivated close to the consumer and are independent of seasons, not confronted with pests and diseases and are also of high quality, comes a lot closer.

Door een optimale afstemming van temperatuur, luchtvochtigheid, voeding, licht en CO2 in een afgesloten ruimte, kan de oogst van gewassen verdubbeld worden ten opzichte van het telen van planten in een plantenkas. Deze nieuwe teeltmethode, ‘Urban Horticulture’, is ontwikkeld door Plantlab.
