The Rock Shoe by United Nude was designed to feature in fashion shows by Issey Miyake and was inspired by the concept for the Ten Sen Men show, a fashion-show name taken from the Japanese for ‘point line surface’. Architecture and urban design are well-known themes for United Nude. The starting point for the current Rock Shoe was structure. Although originally designed as a walkway shoe for fashion shows, United Nude is now selling the Rock Shoe as a limited collection item in the trend colours for this season: white, black, pink, beige, yellow and green.

The committee feels that it is this shoe’s innovative, chunky shape that makes it so attractive. With its dynamic construction, the heel gives the impression of having been sculpted from stone. Another striking aspect of the design for these shoes is the special balance involved when wearing them. The design exudes strength and transforms the Rock Shoe from a mere item of footwear into a true sculptural object.
