Wrong Colour Furniture System

The project

The Wrong Colour cabinet system is composed of stackable modules: sections with and without doors. These parts are carried out in three different colours: yellow, purple and cerulean. The interconnections between wood (plywood) and aluminium form characteristic patterns.

Committee

Many influences converge in this piece of furniture, including those of Rietveld, Mondriaan and Japanese culture. It is a modular system turned inside out in an interesting way. The graphical dimension of the furniture is unique.

— A Japanese design approach, and Italian design flair have married Piet n language of form to Gerrit Rietveld’s inventiveness, creating Ikea-type simplicity with a touch of luxury - Chris Reinewald, Dutch Design Jaarboek, 2013
