Paper Table

The project

In this autonomous crockery the starting point is clearly visible: spatial sketches in paper and cardboard. The drawn-on ‘ribbing’ provides a natural decoration and gives the crockery an almost architecturally modular beauty.

Jury

The entire concept is made possible through working with so many different manufacturers, which is highly appreciated by the jury. The starting point of folded crockery made from paper remains visible in the end result, made with a choice of materials such as porcelain, glass and textiles. The result gives a real sense of invention and fragility.

— With Paper Table, Scholten & Baijings deepen their artisanal approach to design.
