Cousins

The project

Forty-three walls, borrowed from European museums and art institutions, have been turned into a spatial installation. In addition to the functionality – the walls were used for installing works of art – Cousins has created an interactive experience in which the works on view, the visitors, and the environment play a role.

Committee

The scenography of walls which are taken out of their context is a metaphor for the reuse of materials. The arrangement of the objects in the space facilitates the performance and determines the programming. The aura of walls from renowned European museums comes together in a sports hall. It is fascinating to see how this project represents the convergence of high and low culture.
