Absence of Light

The project

A track of light, the bridge illuminates itself; function & ornament!

Committee

In this design, the jury identified one of the few examples of architecture in which the building work and the lighting structure are fully integrated. Many examples of architecture can be found in which light is an addition to the construction, but very few in which both aspects are mutually dependent regarding the visual image. The thought that a bridge can offer a different visual experience at night than during the day, and that the designer should be able to take this into account, is very appealing.
