Commissioned by the Amsterdam urban district Oud-Zuid, Kokke designed a fence with a length of 1 kilometre around sports complex Olympiaplein. The sports complex has two monumental entrance gates and a main gate. The fence curves out from the inside, causing a rounded curve on the outside. These features express the protective ‘inside feeling’ and the closed exterior.

Breathtakingly beautiful fencing enclosing the illustrious Olympiaplein. The design is consistent with the decorative ornamental cast-iron elements so lavishly applied in the Amsterdam public space in the 1920s and 1930s. This fence on the other hand is neither overly nostalgic nor lacking in functionality.
