Bertjan Pot
Cord Benches Textielmuseum

The project
Cord sofas for the Entrance Building of the Audax Textielmuseum in Tilburg. Bert Jan Pot designed for ‘Bij Mommers’ (the catering establishment on the ground floor) special steel-framed benches strung criss-cross with colourful textile cords. The benches mark the catering space and enhance the relaxed ambiance.

Committee
Within the constellation of likely materials (textiles) and location (hospitality in a reception area), Bert Jan Pot succeeded in giving his so-called cord benches a surprising shape. Pot has transferred his sincere fascination with materials almost literally to the user of the bench (and the visitor to the Textile Museum).
