Brigitte and Jolanda graduated from the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 2005. Under the name and Beyond, they conduct experiments with conceptual, multidisciplinary fashion projects. The label is showing a growing preference for wearable collections with a strong innovative signature, which are carefully contextualised through various forms of presentation such as shows, performances, and exhibitions.

The designs by Brigitte Hendrix and Jolanda van den Broek fire the imagination. It arises from a clear vision, and distinguishes itself in particular for the combination of fashion and technology. The nostalgic 3D prints that have been applied in the design hint at the presence of a second layer, an extra dimension. Surprisingly enough, this feeling of suspense is proved right when you view the design, rather awkwardly though, through 3D spectacles. According to jury member Carlo Wijnands, Brigitte and Jolanda are most promising designers whom we are sure to hear more of in the near future. We are all very eager to find out what else they are capable of. We hope that nomination offers them the opportunity and the challenge to show the full scope of their talent.
